PSA: In all but 3 states, a conviction for growing marijuana (or any other marijuana-related felony) results in at least some period of time during which the person is barred from voting. Minnesotans with a past felony conviction can vote after they finish their entire sentence, *including* probation or parole. This is commonly known as being ‘off-paper.’ It is a felony to vote or register to vote before completing the entire felony sentence. Those who finish their sentence will automatically have their right to vote restored so long as they register before they vote.
