PSA: TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC: We, the workers of the library, would like to inform you all that we 1. Are a library...we deal in books. 2. Are not an office depot, a home depot, a walgreens, a walmart, or most recently a post office. We do not sell STAMPS, construction paper, glue, posters, scissors, vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry folders, flash drives, or any other type of school/office supply. 3. We are not a free daycare. We do not want to hear your child screaming at the top of his/her lungs for hours 2 hours straight. We are not going to watch your kids in the Childrens room while you play on facebook. 4. We are not teachers. We are not here to teach your kid his alphabet, multiplication tables, spelling words or fractions. 4. We are not secretaries. We do not type papers, resumes, research papers, and the like. 5. We are not crooks. We are not going to help you forge, alter, or create false documents. 6. We are not obligated to witness, sign, verify, or testify to anything for you. We do not have to sign affidavits, or mortgage papers, or anything that concerns YOUR personal life. 7. We are not a huge recycle bin. We do not need your 40 year-old newpaper clippings, old Sunday school books, Alive/ Awake or Daily Bread pamphlets, or any other items from your attic/garage/dead mothers house that you just cant seem to throw away. I could go on, but I wont. My point is this, we deal in BOOKS. With the occasional CURRENT newspaper or magazine. This is a place to find and utilize information..(i.e. the books, internet and such). Please stop asking us for things that we cannot provide, and stop getting mad when we tell you we dont have it, or cant do it. We are a LIBRARY, not Chuck E. Cheese. We should not have toys and a snack. Everything has a place, the Library is the place for BOOKS. Please govern yourselves accordingly.
