PT has long realized that the way the youth experience urbanization is not the same to the manner that the ‘older’ urban dwellers engage with the phenomenon. This is the idea behind Mwamko Wa Vijana (The revival of the youths). The Mwamko wa Vijana initiative seeks to animate discussions on possible alternatives and suggest practical livelihood options while providing an avenue for interrogation on issues affecting the youth. Mwamko is premised on the belief that transformation can be attained by using young people as agents of change. To achieve this, Mwamko wa Vijana has deliberately tuned its approaches towards building community-based youth structures that can adequately address youth issues by developing sustainable home grown solutions.
