PTI: Islamabad - Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan advised members and office-bearers of PTI on Friday to work as a team. “The PTI has not become a team yet. I can’t blame you people. Perhaps it is my fault and I admit it. Leader should never make decisions on “main” but on merit,” Imran Khan said on Friday while chairing the central executive committee meeting here at a local hotel. Most of the members of CEC attended the meeting with their families. Imran advised the party to recognise contributions of everyone to expand and strengthen the party and work as a team. Interestingly, media was not invited to cover the proceedings of the committee. Later on a press note issued from Central Information Cell of PTI stated that Imran welcomed everyone and greeted them for outstanding performance in the general election. “Overall performance of PTI was outstanding,” the handout quoted Imran as saying. Imran appreciated performance of party leadership and the workers whose relentless hard work made PTI one of the prominent parties of the country. “Our party which had no seat in 2008 and 1 seat in 2002, made great achievement in these elections. The turnout was also unprecedented, especially in cities. “PTI is poised to becoming a truly federal party. We need to do a lot of work especially in Sindh and Balochistan,” Khan said. Speaking about party discipline, Imran expressed disappointment, however, he said PTI needs to have a proper committee. Imran made it loud and clear that PTI is a different party and works in a democratic egalitarian critical fashion. However, he advised the members and workers to be careful on passing allegations publicly. Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, President Javed Hashmi, General Secretary Pervez Khattak, Additional Secretary General Saifullah Khan Niazi, Central Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari and other party leadership attended the meeting.
