PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: The SDJF will conduct a Candlelight Vigil and Moment of Silence for the 2 victims and one survivor of the city’s latest heartbreaking incident of domestic violence. With the support of the Michaela Brewington family, the vigil will take place at the... US Main Post Office, 201 N Murrow Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27401 on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 6:30-8pm. The Vigil starts at 7pm. There will be a program with speakers, supporters and family who want the public to know who the victims were and that their spirit of love will be forever remembered. Supporters are asked to bring symbols of faith, love and candles to be used during the vigil. The Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Inc. has been at the forefront of supporting the victims of domestic violence and their families for 6 years. Last week, tragedy struck our community again in one horrific day filled with a loss of life; lives who touched the community, friends and families simply by their beautiful presence on earth. Domestic violence has cost the lives of 14 victims in North Carolina this year alone. As a community we must continue to be diligent in educating the public and seek out resources that help victims and their families cope with domestic violence. The SDJF welcomes everyone in Greensboro and surrounding areas to join us in this solemn but defiant vigil in support of all the victims of this tragedy.
