PUBLIC ENEMY had an album entitled It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back maybe the millions holding us back is ourselves ----> IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE being adequately addressed in the black community from our homes to the pulpit? Or does the THOT culture permeate the mentality of our men to where we have no feeling toward women? The days when you could be Allen Iverson and commit DV and still play in the league and get paid are over, white folks are raising the standards since they are cutting the checks and their advertising revenue is being affected. Black men are going to continue to be paraded out in the media one by one like a line up until we get the memo. This is not a distraction, we have to be able to multitask between #Ferguson , Voting Rights, Chicago to DV to Environmental and Economic Justice. One entity or person cannot address the multiplicity of systemic issues we are facing right now. Reality TV entertainment (deviant) is not going to make our problems go away. 34 Children by 17 mothers is more common than we want to admit.
