PUBLIC ENLISTMENT CEREMONY IN BRISBANE: A General Enlistment ceremony will be held at the Kangaroo Point Park next Monday when 42 south-east Queenslanders will join the Australian Regular Army in front of family and friends. Following the ceremony, the new soldiers will head to Wagga Wagga where they will undertake the Initial Recruit Course at Kapooka. They are enlisting in a number of jobs including as drivers, military police, information systems technicians, cargo specialists and marine specialists. The enlistment ceremony will take place at Kangaroo Point Park, 461 Main Street, Kangaroo Point at the intersection with River Terrace, commencing at 11.30am Monday 24 June. Guest Speaker at the ceremony will be Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Clarke, Commanding Officer, Headquarters 1st Division.
