PUC examine SCCC audit para Corporation earns over 20 per cent revenue from last year SRINAGAR, JULY 17:The Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has directed the State Cable Car Corporation (SCCC) authorities to utilize left out 9.56 metric tonnes of steel material within two months. This direction was given by the Committee in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of MLA Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari here today while examining the CAGs Audit Para pertaining to the Corporation. The Members of the Committee including Legislators, Mr. G. N. Monga, Mr. Javed Ahmad Dar, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani and Er. Abdul Rashid attended the meeting. They also gave valuable suggestions for bringing further improvement in the functioning of the Corporation. The meeting was informed that 90 per cent portion of 870 quintals steel material was utilized by the Corporation so far. It is also informed that the process for utilizing remaining material has been initiated and the Corporation have taken up the matter with the Army for seeking their technical guidance so that the left out steel material can be used in a proper way for official purposes. The Committee decided to pay visit to cross-check whether the material has been utilized in full.. Threadbare discussion was held on the progress of setting up of ropeway at Shivkhori, Makhdoom Sahib and Bagh-i-Bahu to Peerkho. The Committee directed the concerned to gear up their field functionaries and ensure early start of work on these projects. Earlier, Commissioner Secretary, Tourism Mr. Atul Dullo and Managing Director, SCCC Mr. Tufail Mattoo briefed the Committee about the action taken report with regard to CAG’s audit Para and over all activities of the Corporation. It was informed that the revenue of the Corporation has swollen to over 20 per cent as compared to corresponding period from last year so far. Among others, Principal Accountant General, J&K AG’s Office, Dr. S. C. Pandey, Special Secretary Assembly Mr. M. R. Singh, Additional Secretary Assembly Mr. B. L. Koul, representatives from Accounts and Treasuries and officers from Tourism department, SCCC and Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
