***PUPPY ALERT*** Owner arrested and now Max is in jail to and sentenced to death tomorrow at noon. Please give him a stay of execution by adopting or fostering him before it is to late... A volunteer writes:Those eyes! That nose! That soft, sweet smile! Max uncurls from sleep to reveal himself as the Most Adorable Puppy Ever and I am instantly smitten - how could anyone resist such an abundance of cuteness??? Now that I know him better my first impression is only strengthened because this affectionate, playful little guy has a soul just as beautiful as his precious face. He arrived at the Care Center with his (probable) Father, Rex (A1006764) but where his daddy is a bold go-getter, wee Max prefers to take things slow, shyly wagging his tail for treats or snuggles and approaching other dogs with low-key overtures of friendship - except papa of course, Rex gets smiles and a delighted wigglebutt! His gentle patience extends to playtime and Max sits ever so politely to eat a snack or wait for me to toss a toy, its so funny to watch him hunker down to munch on a stuffed animal almost half his own size. Though he does love to play tug-o-war its all in fun - no one puts the gentle in gentleman like young Max. He received wonderful scores on his behavior assessment but because of his reticence to approach another dog its recommended that Max go to an experienced home where his socialization skills can be polished and his sensitive nature loved and nurtured for the precious gift it is.
