PUPPY VIRUS UPDATE: Sorry for the lack of posts today, but I was trying to help two breeders with litters, and also get some necessary work done on the farm. The two puppies who were showing symptoms did not survive. Stephanie managed to also obtain some Acyclovir, a drug that should arrest the virus. The two puppies were not at the crying stage yet, but failed to recover. Five pups are lost. The three remaining pups, all little lasses, seem to be OK. One has some mucous in the eyes that is not related to this virus. These three are getting both the Lysine and the Acyclovir. I am a bit baffled as to why neither the Lysine nor the Acyclovir arrested the virus in the two that succumbed this afternoon. Hopefully, it will prevent the loss of the last three puppies. Please continue to pray for Stephanie. She is devastated and feels sad and helpless. Bev & I know these feelings well, having watched as one-by-one, 12 out of 13 puppies died, many of them taking their last breaths in our arms, from this horrible virus. Her tears evoked strong memories of our own.
