PUPdate: Well, a very eventful week! We released our lovely Georgie girl on Friday, and she cruised away very happily as the sun was setting with us and a colony of wild common seals looking on! Very special moment :) The phone has been ringing off the hook with phone calls with all this stormy weather. There were several calls of healthy seals who were waiting out the storm and returned to the sea when the weather calmed after some observation thankfully (big thank you to everyone who rang in about the pups, observed them and were on stand by in case of rescue being required!). Sadly, we still have 2 new patients: Scotty who was found by Diane arrived on Friday from Scotts beach in the Maharees, Co Kerry - he is very weak, emaciated and has numerous infected wounds so he is in a critical state and we hope that he pulls through :( AND a yet to be named little female pup found late last night by Sean walking his dogs on Ventry beach, Co. Kerry. We fumbled our way down the beach in the dark and literally stumbled upon her! She is underweight but in pretty good condition except for some injuries and wounds no doubt from the storm. Fingers crossed she wont need to stay too long and with some antibiotics and TLC will be able to go in no time! We will let you know her name once weve thought of one! :) Everyone else is doing well... Cranky is eating fish and gaining weight very well. Ross is now on fish soup and his eye is looking better by the day. Lena is also on fish soup and is as bright as a button and very feisty, keeping us all on our toes! Miri & Brodie are both hand feeding in their bath now, and Ash and Harvey now sharing a kennel are enjoying each others company - except for when Harvey tries to steal Ashs fish! (A sight we actually are thrilled to see!) Now some more great news for the week - we will be releasing Oscar & Suzie next weekend! YAY! Suzie will be released on Saturday 9th November on Greystones beach, Co. Wicklow at 3pm. All welcome!!!! Oscar will be released on Sunday 10th November on Cullenamore strand, Strandhill, Co. Sligo at 12pm. All welcome!!!! Stay tuned for photos! :D
