PUT BELIEF IN YOUR LIFE AND LIFE IN YOUR BELIEF “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: For it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek…Romans 1:16.” There is power in believing! Man says, “Seeing is believing. God says, Believing is seeing.” The Bible says, if we have faith the size of a mustard seed we can command the mountain to move and it will be moved. What a promise of power for the child of God. The Apostle Paul says in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: For it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” In the New Testament, the Cross of Christ is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles. But to those who believe whether Jew or Gentile, the Cross of Christ is the power of God unto salvation. The power of God comes from believing! It is the catalyst of great things to come in your Christian life. The gospel message and a life lived by the faith of the Son of God means nothing to the unbelieving Jew and Gentile. But to those who believe, it is the power that changes lives, changes things and changes situations. This belief may appear to be a stumbling block to some and foolishness to others. But to those who are persuaded He is able, it is the power of God. The unregenerate intellectual may scoff at such thoughts and the quote “religious man” may stumble over such explanations but the power of God is available to you as believers in Christ. So do not sacrifice the truth of divine revelation for human reasoning that disregards the spirit and truth of God’s living and written Word. Both Old and New Testament say the just shall live by faith. Faith is the power of belief brought to life. In a visual sense, faith is belief with legs on it as my dear sister in Christ, Paula Grimes, used to say . It is belief resulting in action. You are not to live your life in the flesh by a faith but the faith of the Son of God that loves you and gave Himself for you! God gives you the gift of faith because Christ has reconciled those who believe to the Father by the blood of His cross. So in the deepest depths of your soul believe! Believe in Him whom The Father has sent. You will experience the blessings God promises and the lovingkindnesses He sends which are new every morning. Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free you are free indeed!” So, as Bible teacher J. Vernon McGee use to say, “Get on the believing bus!” Experience God’s resurrection power working in, through and for your life. Watch God set you free from the grave clothes of your old existence. He will make the rough places smooth. And Like Paul the Apostle, your gains in life will be to know Him, the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings. Go for it! Step out on the waters of faith and experience the power of the Lord working in your life. God is there with outstretched arms inviting you to come. Put belief in your life and life in your belief. Stand back and see the Glory of the Lord! There will be great and mighty things He will do for you. “Partake of the Lord and see that He is good.” Jesus loves you, cares for you and is your Bread of Life. Daily believe in the life He has ordained for you. Moment by moment trust and obey. He will uphold you with His Righteous Right Hand and lead you where you need to go.
