While he isnt a unicorn or a hunchback, Pyp deserves to be a legend in his own right! He has the sweetest face complete with little spots above his nose, eyes that are always looking to his person, and a mouth that is often upturned into a sometimes subtle, sometimes exuberant smile. From the moment I approach his cage til its time for him to go back in (he dreads it and needs lots of encouragement, or even picking up to do it) Pyps tail is wagging! He is past his puppy prime, but harbors an all-encompassing love for people that is almost puppylike. When we passed staff members sitting at a lunch table Pyp looked their way and wagged his tail even more! While he hoped to catch their attention to say hi, he still always remains very attentive to me. Pyp walks very nicely on leash and seems housetrained. He knows sit and takes treats nicely. He seems to like other dogs and always wants to nicely check on his neighbors as he passes their cages. Pyp loves to be pet and is so affectionate! Hell lean his head into my hands as I scratch behind his ears and shimmy his way onto my lap. Im not quite sure what the explanation is for Pyps unusual silhouette, but it does not seem to have put a damper on his wonderful spirit! He is so sweet, mild-mannered, trusting and loving. Can you offer this gentleman the home he deserves?? He would be so happy to meet you at the Brooklyn ACC....and Im willing to bet hed make you happy too!! A volunteer writes: Its great being a dog, but sometimes, it aint so great. People leave us for whatever reason, not a reason at all is a good reason in my book. Were left tied to a pole, a tree, or the middle of darned highway. Me, I came in as a stray, no ID at all, Im more than nothing in my book, Ive got rights too. Some kind person brought me here, and now Im hoping someone soon will step us and take me into their lives, to love and care for the rest of my life. Im seven years old now, and my heart aches so much, I appreciate all of the awesome volunteers that come and walk me, but going back to the kennel every day, is such a let down. All my fellow doggies, howling and barking, and so out of sorts, and who can blame us for being ill tempers, and arfin mad. Im a real friendly sort, and love to be scratched, hugged, walked, romp and play. I love when they take me into the yard and toss the ball, so I can run and grab it up and bring it back to those loving, caring arms ... I love you so much Mr. Volunteer or Miss. I promise to always remember that a command is a good thing, Sit Pyp, sit. and sometimes even gets a treat. I promise to always love you with all of my good doggie heart, and sneak in a lick when you least expect it.
