Pacquiao missed his chance, says Floyd ABS-CBNnews Posted at 06/27/2013 5:16 PM | Updated as of 06/27/2013 5:16 PM MANILA, Philippines – Unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. said Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has missed his chance to challenge him for a mega-fight. There was a huge demand among boxing fans to see Mayweather and Pacquiao face off against each other, especially after the two boxers rose to the top of pound-for-pound lists. But speaking to Fight Hype, Mayweather claimed that time has run out on Pacquiao. “Now, you got Manny Pacquiao talking, ‘I’m ready to take the test now.’ Well, you could have taken the test a long time ago,” Mayweather said. One of the issues that prevented a Pacquiao-Mayweather mega-fight was the American’s demand for random urine and blood testing, which the Pacman initially thumbed down before eventually agreeing to around two years ago. But after Pacquiao agreed to “take the test,” another issue popped up – this time, the revenue split between the two camps, as Mayweather refused to give Pacquiao an equal share. “Now, I feel like his career has declined,” Mayweather said, referring to Pacquiao’s two consecutive losses in 2012. “Now, like, ‘Okay, I’ll do whatever now so I can get the big payday. Now I’ll do whatever I got to do now.’” “But you had your time,” Mayweather stressed. “You had your time, and now Canelo is in the spot. Canelo said, ‘I’ll do whatever it takes,’ so now we’re fighting.” Mayweather will put his unbeaten record on the line against Mexican champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on September 14 in Las Vegas. abs-cbnnews/sports/06/27/13/pacquiao-missed-his-chance-says-floyd
