Pain & Anger “When your life has been interrupted by chronic illness, a normal response includes anger. You search for reasons or causes, but if none may be found your anger may be turned inward. Your emotion becomes judge, jury, and prosecutor. Often everyone in the family becomes angry. A spouse may become overloaded and impatient. Children may feel neglected. These feelings and subsequent experiences are normal with what you and your family are experiencing. Anger can consume much of your energy, and this is a problem because you may not have that much energy right now.” -Norman H. Wright Although it’s okay to feel angry, having a third party to speak with routinely can definitely help to diffuse much of the emotional turmoil that accompanies chronic pain. If this is happening to you, seek out counseling. It helps!
