Pain is unavoidable but suffering is something we do to ourselves and one way we make ourselves suffer during trials or tribulations is by grinding ourselves down to the nubs. We may not feel much like having fun but that’s definitely a time when we need some to relieve the pressure; to distract us from over-thinking our problems; to provide a better perspective; and to celebrate our humanity. Anyone can maintain their balance when troubled or sad by practicing their glad. #YOUR GROWTH MINUTE Getting your groove on. We can somewhat lost in our defensive posture if we’ve been stuck in conflict or crisis for very long. We don’t mean to react to everything as a potential threat but we definitely do if we’ve been under pressure and not having any fun. We must consciously break away from that narrative regularly to enjoy our lives or it poisons our outlook and thinking. We need to make time for those things that refresh, rejuvenate and give us joy. When things are really terrible it may seem irresponsible to squeeze out some play or recreation time but it is vital to our perspective and wellbeing. All defense and no fun makes us negative, twitchy and really, really tired. We break the grip of negativity, fear and anxiety by stepping out of our troubles long enough to have some fun because it reminds us that we’re always much more than the challenges we’re facing. It reminds us that, in spite of all the pain and struggle - LIFE is GOOD!
