Painting with pastels is by far the easiest and most versatile medium, instant, manipulative, fresh pure rolled pigment. I love em. Great for adding atmosphere, mood and expresssion. I love how each paper has so much influence on the finished painting. The paper is the most important thing for me, then the pastel. I really think Canson Mi Teines is my favourite and believe the cotton rich, orange peel effect plays such an important part in the work. Unison pastels are also a great asset, being a perfect consistancy for me personally
