Twenty-one militants were killed and several others sustained injuries when jet fighters pounded their hideouts in the Tirah Valley and Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on October 16. Seven people were killed and 17 others sustained injuries when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a Jirga (tribal assembly) of the Zakhakhel Amn Lashkar (peace militia) in the Pir Mela area of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency on October 15.
