Pandesal From Kusina ni Ka Basyo. . . Pandesal (Filipino Breakfast Bread Rolls) are a must on every Filipino table during breakfast in the Philippines. This tasty and slightly sweet bread rolls are usually bought early in the morning in every neighbourhood local bakery. Steaming hot with crusty exterior and that recognizable crumbs, they are packaged in traditional rectangular brown paper bag. . Some prefer to dunk Pandesal in their morning coffee and eat it that way. Others fill their Pandesal with Salted Eggs, Fried Spam or Hotdog, Ham, Peanut Butter, Coconut jam or just plain good old butter…sky’s the limit on what filling you want!. . But nowadays, I am not satisfied with the pandesal they are selling in the nearby bakery, usually it is hallow, hard and very small in size that most od us wont satisfied. . I tried to make pandesal with new twist, Instead of using water I used fresh milk with butter. . Here is my recipe. . 1 kilo all purpose flour 3 table spoon yeast 3 table spoon vegetable seasoning 3 table spoon butter 2 cups of granulated sugar 5 pieces of egg 1 table spoon salt 2 cups of fresh milk bread crumbs . . Procedure . In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients mix until smooth and the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. . Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, supple and elastic; about 10 minutes. Lightly oil a large mixing bowl, place the dough in it and turn to coat the dough with oil. Cover with a damp towel or plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place until the dough has doubled in volume; about 1 hour. . Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 4 equal pieces. Form each piece into a cylinder or like a log and roll out until the log is 1/2 inch in diameter. . In a baking pan, sprinkle with bread crumbs. . Using a sharp knife, cut each log into 1/2 inch pieces. Place the pieces, flat side down into the baking sheet. Sprinkle bread cums on top of each log . Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled in volume, about 1 hour. . Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) until golden brown, about 20 minutes. . Another tip...ang paghiwa ng log pa hilis pag binake na kusa itong magkokorte kagaya ng nasa larawan ...kapag pinagulong sa bread crumbs ilagay na agad sa baking sheet para hinde magalaw ang baking sheet budburan ng bread crumbs. as i have mentioned above dito na takpan ng tela for 1 hour saka islang sa oven
