The Latin Recording Academy, organiser of the Grammy Awards for works recorded in Spanish or Portuguese, honored the 74-year-old with a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award, awarded only to artists “who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.”
