Parallel session of WCEF Young Entrepreneurs Roundtable happening - TopicsExpress

Parallel session of WCEF Young Entrepreneurs Roundtable happening at the same time. Heres the gist of what they spoke about ... Geronimo L. Sy (Asst Secretary, Dept of Justice, Philippines): Best time to start as an entrepreneur is when you have experience and network. What is missing is entrepreneur is entrepreneurship in government or governance. Who are the entrepreneurs in government? We also need to look into entrepreneurship and ethics. This is a challenge for China’s entrepreneurs. I will talk more on entrepreneurship in governments tomorrow. Dato David Yeat (GD Developments, Malaysia): China will no longer be the world’s factory but move up the economic ladder. In the next 35 years China will be transformed by the New Silk Road Economic Belt. From a long-term perspective, Chinese entrepreneurs must be more pro-active rather than wait for others to move into pioneer industries. Chinese business must invest more on innovation and not just quantity. If Chinese business want to go global, must change mind-set. Innovation can lead to completely new growth areas. I hope the WCEF will be as well-known as Davos and I invite Chinese entrepreneurs to WCEF in London next year. William Lye (Chair, Asia Practice, Commercial Bar Assoc. Victoria Australia): Time for Chinese diaspora to come together. 11% of Australia’s 20m population considered Asian. As young entrepreneurs we have responsibility to make a difference to the world we live in. Young Chinese entrepreneurs have much to share with the West.
