Parallels in history: Today, June 30th, 2014, is the 80th Anniversary of the Night of the Long Knives... (Disclaimer: I have ZERO empathy for either the perpetrators OR the victims) There was a Paramilitary organization in Nazi Germany, called the S.A. (SturmAbteilung)... most of you know them as the Brownshirts... or the thugs that would serve as bodyguards and beat up undesirables that got into the path of Hitlers rise to power during the years of 1930-1933 when Hitler consolidated his power... They were crude thugs, who had no problem manhandling even diplomats... . Then the day came in mid 1934, in which Hitlers confidants in the S.S. managed to convince them that the S.A. had become a liability, and were plotting to overthrow Hitler... (well never really know if this was true), but of course, Hitler handled this matter in his normal brutal fashion... . over the course of 3 days, beginning June 30th, 1934, the vast majority of the S.A. was arrested, and many were summarily executed in their own homes without benefit of a trial by the S.S., acting upon orders of Adolf Hitler himself... . There is a a group of thugs here in the U.S., that paved the way for Republican takeover of the House, and just enough votes in the Senate to be able to Filibuster EVERYTHING... we call them the Tea Party. . I predict, the day is coming, that the Koch brothers will decide that the TEA Party has outlived its useful idiot status... and has become a liability and will be no longer be financially supported by the Koch Brothers... Kind of a Bloodless Night of the Long Knives if you will... . I have an acquaintance here on facebook, who is predicting an open hot civil war between not states, but the Left and the Right will happen within 10 years if the trend we are seeing continues...
