Paramedics with sirens blaring on the ambulance rushed to an - TopicsExpress

Paramedics with sirens blaring on the ambulance rushed to an emergency at Walgreens yesterday to pick up a lady in distress - me. A line of people sat in their cars, sun beating down on them, at the drive through window for an hour and 1/2. My patience worn thin, along with others I got out of the car and talked too, I walked around the building to go inside to the Pharmacy and see what the hold up was and complain for the whole line of people. Inside the standing line at the Pharmacy was as long as the drive through. A few people were behind the counter doing the work and handling people and phones. By the time I got to the counter my heart was beating almost outside my chest, I was dizzy, wobbly, and out of breath. An employee asked if I was a certain person, and I said, No, but I need some water. The reply to me was that they were busy but if she could she would get me some. At that point I went down, my arm and purse getting caught on the counter so that I almost hit my bottom on the floor and then suddenly hands were under my rear on my back, shoulder, and neck and a chair was shoved underneath me. I went into a big seizure and not being able to respond to giving my name or if I was with somebody, they called an ambulance. Just as I went down I got a glimpse of our Jeep at the drive through window with Bob asking for my meds. He heard them say inside they had a woman with an emergency and calling an ambulance. Bob said his first thought was, Oh, s---! I know what that is, so he went to park when 2 employees reached the jeep and told him I needed him. They had found my name in my wallet and he had also called me and they answered. As I was coming around the lady holding my head remarked that they, lost me. I could only grasp a few words and one was ambulance to which I shakily said, NO. Bob got inside and told them that I have a seizure now and then but it was too late, the Paramedics were there. I signed a release for the paramedics with a promise to see my doctor. This was the longest and strongest of the years of seizures Ive experienced so far. The paramedics said my BP was 182/80 and made me rest a bit before escorting me out - walking, with Bobs help. Dr. Erichson asked me what I would be doing if this had not happened and I told him Id be at the Palmer Open Market. He chuckled and said, If you arent stressed about this, then neither am I. I am not on seizure meds now because after 13 years I stopped for 3, but they started again after my back surgery. There was just a small window of time when I could drive again but arthritis in my legs made that impossible. Now, with the seizures coming more often I am back to no driving again. I apologize this is so long, but I have to make some choices at this point and writing gives me some perspective. I am still shaken over the incident, so having a restful day. I took some mags out to the trash which were heavy and my heart went into A-Fib and BP went right up. So I have to contemplate all this. One thing, it was so humiliating to come to and see that long line of people standing back watching the whole scene of me shaking and twitching and going out, the samaritans, and the paramedics. After the doctor we did make it to the Palmer Open Market where Bob bought a beautiful White Willow walking stick, and I picked up some Halibut clay earrings made by Fish Lips, and they match the Halibut I purchased about 6 years ago from the same lady and which I used to make a cute necklace.
