Parenting is hard work--duh. We make a lot of mistakes. We doubt ourselves. We look for validation that we are doing something right. When your kid gets serious about something, whether its a sport, a musical instrument, a performing art, whatever, it gets even worse. You say to yourself, Am I pushing my kid too hard? Am I doing this just for my own ego? Does my kid appreciate all the time and money I spend for them to pursue this activity? The sacrifices I make? Are they getting anything out of this? And then you stumble across a picture like this on your kids Twitter page, entirely by accident. A picture that she never told you (and probably will never tell you) she posted. And in that moment in time, captured by that photo, you look at her face. And read her words. And all those questions you asked yourself get answered. And you realize how mightily God has Blessed you by giving you children in the first place.
