#ParentingTipsWithEmem A study performed in America showed that children who had a better relationship with their parents fared better in health, education, peer experiences and in other areas. Ensuring that an environment for mutual respect is cultivated helps parents and children maintain that close relationship. Respect is basically being polite to others. Respect is a two way street, respect will always earn respect. Your child will learn to treat you and others by your action as a parent. If you belittle, talk down to, use abusive words and discourage your child, with time that child will reciprocate, using that same behaviour with you and others. Such disrespect will strain the parent-child relationship. We can train and correct our children without employing abusive words and belittling remarks. Those things will damage the mutual respect that is necessary for the parent-child relationship to thrive.
