Parents: Did your children have to pay money to participate in Red Ribbon Week activities (crazy sock day, etc) at school last week? My niece attends Jewett School of the Arts, who required them to pay $1 EACH DAY to participate and I am INFURIATED. I fully support the county-wide mandated drug-free lessons we teach, but I dont think its fair that some students cannot participate in the fun things if they do not have the money. My niece was able to particpate, but this is about principle. Are other schools making money off this?!
