Parents, I am writing this in support of all the LHS students - TopicsExpress

Parents, I am writing this in support of all the LHS students that attend and support our football team. At the game, this past Friday, one or more administrators told the students that they could not shoot confetti cannons anymore. (Barbe was shooting them). All the students supporting other teams around Lafayette are shooting confetti cannons. The reason given was the janitor didnt want to clean it up. I think its his job. The paper is biodegrade able. When they did shoot them after touchdowns they were getting THE FACE from one or more administrators. They were also told they couldnt do this or that. Now I do understand that the students were asked not to get on each others shoulders in the stands at the games. That is understandable for safety reasons. Rules, rules, rules. Give me a break, its a football game. One parent told me that the kids are frustrated and feel like they are suppose to sit in the stands in silence and only clap as though they were at a tennis or golf match. Over the weekend and through this morning I ran into about 6 parents that told me how disappointed the students attending the game are because they are barely allowed to show excitement and support for the team. This morning, I called the office, at school, and left a message in support of these kids and would ask you to do the same. Why are our football student supporters not allowed to celebrate? This is absurd behavior on the part of school administration.
