Parents In an effort to communicate the event from yesterday as - TopicsExpress

Parents In an effort to communicate the event from yesterday as quickly as possible to parents, we immediately posted the story on our school’s Facebook page and attempted to send an automated phone message to all of our homes. A text message was later sent out over Remind 101. It is regrettable that the automated phone message failed and that some of you did not receive word of this incident in as timely a fashion as we would like. We have also had reports that some parents received an automated phone message last week while others did not. Know that we are looking into this problem and hope to have it rectified very soon. In the meantime, in the event that a situation would arise which would warrant an alert to parents, we will continue to use Facebook and Remind 101 and will attempt to send a letter home as promptly as possible. We will also be sending emails home in an attempt to reach parents as quickly as possible. I know that this was a disturbing situation for our entire school community and am confident that we acted with the best interest of our students in mind. I am also very thankful for the efforts of the Green Township Police Department, who handled the matter quickly and professionally. Rest assured that we will look into our communication procedures and try to increase its efficiency. The safety of our students is our very highest priority. We will be sending a tech message today between 10:30 and 2:30. If you do no to receive a tech message let Sheri Knapp know by callilng the main office at 574-1100 or emailing her at [email protected]. We will then add your number to the call list if it is absent. Again, we apologize for the issues with the tech line and we are working to correct them as soon as possible. We will also be sending an email to all parents currently on our school email list. If you do not receive this email please contact Sheri Knapp in the office. You will also receive information today with your child in written form regarding how to receive information from Oakdale via email, text message, tech call or facebook. The last we heard from the police the student in question is still being held at a facility. For the safety of all our students if we are alerted a change in his status we will let you know as soon as possible.
