Parents of 2-4 year olds: Check out this great program for toddlers and their parents at Open Connections... Parent/Toddler Program at Open Connections “It all starts with the belief that people are natural learners.” – Peter Bergson, Co-Founder Open Connections • Do you have a young person between the ages of 2-4? • Are you looking to foster his or her natural curiosity? • Are you interested in connecting with other like-minded parents? Enroll in the Pre-Open Program at Open Connections held on Mondays or Thursdays from 10am until 12pm. This program is designed for youth ages 2-4 and their parent/caregiver (nanny, grandparent, etc.) Discussion topics will include answering the following questions: • What is Open Education, and How Will it Benefit My Youth Throughout His/Her Life? • What Can I Do Now to Reinforce Natural Learning? Additionally, participants will explore and learn about: • Setting Boundaries That Work • Nurturing Flexible Thinking and Other Contributors to the Creative Process • Understanding and Promoting True Development vs. Rote Memorization • Role-playing (“What do I do/say when my daughter/son ____?”) • Building Physical Work/Play Spaces That Inspire Self-direction and Collaboration Three 11-week sessions offered, starting September 2013. $350/session for first youth. $150/session for addition sibling(s). (Of course, in-arms/nursing babies are welcome to attend free of charge.)
