#ParkedOutFront Finnish adventure rider, Marko Hemmila, stopped by Touratech-USAs Seattle showroom last Friday, two years into his four year journey around the world! Since leaving FInland, Marko has traveled through 35 countries and more than 72k miles aboard his #Touratech equipped 2005 BMW Motorrad R1200GS. Maybe surprising, one of his favorite places has been Pakistan and the beauty of the Himalayas. The low point (thus far) was an accident in Indonesia where he broke his wrists due to a truck running a red light. Locals offered a huge amount of support, though, including the surgeon who put him up for couple of weeks! Traffic in India was also horrifying, he says, but every country has its beauty and he always feels as though he spends too little time in each every time he leaves. He’s never encountered a bad person or felt threatened no matter what race or religion – the friendliness and helpfulness of people has been the big surprise of his trip.
