Parker Griffith for Governor about an hour ago Statement from Parker Griffith: On Tuesday, Governor Bentley sent his attack dog Bill Armistead out to take a swipe at me and my campaign. This is typical behavior of Governor Bentley, hiding behind others while refusing to defend his own failures. Governor Bentley’s refusal to debate me shows a deep lack of confidence in himself and his policies. Governor Bentley has repeatedly embarrassed Alabama in the eyes of the nation. His behavior is beneath the greatness of Alabama. It is embarrassing to have our governor make ignorant and backward suppositions about the untimely death of a young girl. It is embarrassing to have our governor admit that a $200 million budget deficit is looming while he refuses to say how he will resolve the problem. In the coming days, I will present my plan to balance the budget without increasing taxes. I’ll root out corruption from our state government. And I won’t take my eye off the ball when it comes to helping the hard-working, God-fearing people of Alabama.
