Part 3... At Lizs wedding, I was blessed to be a part of the big day by providing lighting. Weve talked about how her color amber was to be used in the uplighting. Even with a focus on just one color, a lot of variety can be had to match to mood of the moment. Subtle tone shifts was the first way we talked about in creating the light show. Next, the speed in which the subtle fades changed was used to match the pace of the bands music. Now we add the third element: the intensity of the lighting is just as much in play as the tone and speed. Subtle fades in the brightness of the lighting adds yet another level of the lighting design. And, like the tone variations, the programming is done where the lights are slightly out of sync with each other. The effect is beautiful as it creates a wave of light. when one light is getting brighter, another might be getting dimmer. 29 lights were being used at Lizs wedding reception so there was a lot to play with in the lighting design and programming. With one color, we just added 3 levels of variety and it worked perfectly! (to be continued...)
