Part 4 Nervous System: During a forward stride while running the sciatic nerve in the back of the leg has to move from its rest position 12%. Add opposite trunk rotation and arm movement into the mix the nervous system is being stretched by as much as 9cm. Now add any tight muscles along that link you can see where the problems can arise and restrictions occur. Just a little experiment; before you sit for long periods (car/train/lorry/desk etc) bend forward and touch your toes and at the end of your journey or day do it again and see how far you get. GB x
