Part 4 of 5 of my all-time favourite/most influential songs. The big one! January, 1972 My high school (Eastwood Collegiate) was having a winter celebration. A couple of my friends proposed putting on a car rally, and when the school admin. gave the go ahead, they asked me to help out. (I also wrote a poem about the events of that rally/scavenger hunt, and the poem was published in the school newspaper...one of two poems I had published during my stay at Eastwood). Steve said he knew an artistic kind of guy, who could design/make a poster for the rally, so we went to his place to con him into....er, I mean, offer him the opportunity to help. That was when I first met Ron, and we are still friends to this day. One of the first things he said to me, that day, was Have you heard this?, and held up King Crimsons In the Court of the Crimson King. It was a new one on me, so Ron insisted I borrow it, and play it a few times. Strange thing to do, when I had only just met him! Powerfull sound. Completely different to what I was used to hearing (bar Frank Zappa) . From then on, Progressive Rock was my main music. Anyone whos heard King Crimson, have heard 21st Century Schizoid Man, so, instead, heres a better one from the album... https://youtube/watch?v=zAmrnhXrCJc
