Passengers please note that as of February 1st 2015, pensioners will be unable to use their free travel pass after 6pm. This is down to the fact that these free passes were meant to get out to do a spot of shopping, and not to go to the bingo six nights a week with Agnes and Betty. Furthermore, buses are usually less full at night, which means there are fewer people on board to mask the smell of stale pish, and fewer people to drown out their non stop chatter about the weather. We are also making a strong social statement with this policy. We forever hear that pensioners freeze to death every winter. But if they spent less money on bingo and blue rinses, theyd have more money to spend on heating, thus avoiding an all over blue rinse. There is a positive side too. If pensioners have less money due to having to spend on bus fare at night, its less money for a bogus meter reader to steal from them. We trust this meets with the approval of our loyal passengers.
