Passing camps and summer passing leagues have become "en vogue" - TopicsExpress

Passing camps and summer passing leagues have become "en vogue" over the past decade. I think that it is great that these kids devote time working on a growing segment and important skill in the game. High school football does not necessarily have to be a ground game only and pass if you have to mentality. I go back to my days as a player and wish that we had passing camps, summer workouts, and the such. I had the opportunity to play with a couple of very good QBs, who were extremely talented and would have thrived as passing QBs at the collegiate level (one did as a DB in college). In lieu of having a passing campo, we were fortunate to have a position coach, Maury Smith and Robert Lassiter spending 30 minutes of time before and after practice to work on our passing game. We thought that was something back then, but we did not know any better. Just how good could have some of our QBs and receivers had been if we had the detail and instruction that these kids get in passing camps today?
