Pastor Appreciation #4: To the pastor known as district superintendent. I appreciate you. You are still very much a pastor. You are the missional strategist of a particular area carved out within the bounds of an annual conference. You go to bed at night worrying about the pastors on your district who are struggling, sad, depressed and fatigued. Daily, you think about those churches that may not make it to the end of the year, those churches that are drowning in conflict and those churches and pastors that just wont cooperate. You too are tired, weary, traveling extensively, sitting at a table of a select few trying to figure things out. You often long the sweet security and embrace of a faith community. Either way, you show up, answering calls, breaking up fights, encouraging, concluding and the list goes on. I just want you to know I appreciate this office and you who occupy it and pray Gods abundant blessing as you superintend. Happy Pastors Appreciation Month, Pastor!
