Pastor Robert Parr stood out as unique in his generation. Not - TopicsExpress

Pastor Robert Parr stood out as unique in his generation. Not only was he a writer par excellence and an outstanding minister of the gospel but he was greatly loved by all who knew him well. I am privileged to be in that group. We travelled thousands of miles together, participated in decisive meetings of the church, and walked in happy company in many places. While Gill and I were in England 1970-1972 the outstanding letters we received were those from Bob. He lifted any shadows that hovered around us and gave us new life for the trials of everyday existence. Whether Gill and I were in Australia, England , or USA we rejoiced when any letter came from the inimitable Bob. Under his editorship the Australasian Record blossomed into a fascinating report of church doings spiced with constant bubbling humour. The Signs of the Times and the Health Magazine were similarly graced by him. He was a much sought after MC for social gatherings. How I long to see him again! Not long now as this old world stumbles to its end. I believe that even the New Jerusalem will be enriched by the laughter of Robert Parr as with friends he walks the golden streets. Meanwhile his Saviour will strengthen and support those who mourn , particularly Jenny and Fern.
