Pastors Moment: Today, I will write from a very familiar scripture the Wedding at Cana of Galilee. We all know the narrative as recorded by John 2:1-11 so i will not dwell on that, but I will take you to some key issues. One before Gods blessing there is a command that must be obeyed for the miracle to be complete. Jesus says, Fill the water pots with water. Kindly notice he does not say let there be wine. There is work to do first, filling the water pots. As expected the servants protest and Mary has to say to them Do as He says The command before blessing is repeated across the mission of Jesus on earth - blind man: Christ is about to give him sight. He puts clay on his eyes, and then says, Go to the pool of Siloam and wash. For Lazarus, Jesus commands, Lazarus, come forth. Many other times including the 5 loaves and two fish miracle he commands something to be done before the blessing, in other words you need to follow the command for the blessing to be complete. Another important thing is that once you chose to implement Gods command do it to the deepest extent possible, the filled the water pots to the brim if you have to do it do it with passion fill the water pots till they fill over. After all that our action is not enough, i mean even with the pots full of water and pouring over it is still water, there is a divine touch that only God can complete otherwise it will all be water despite the effort, enthusiasm and sweat. You do not have to do anything for God to perform a miracle but God knows why he has given the command. Look at it this way if he had simply said the pots now have wine, some people would never have seen the miracle, it would have been argued the pots already had wine. Obey the command and pray. Your action is just that if it is not backed by that divine connection that only God understands. By filling the pot with water and involving locals in the process of filling the pots with water he put beyond doubt the miracle. Listen to the command, obey it even if it seems to make no sense, it is not about you, it is about God and eventually taste the miracle and they all agreed, the finest wine was stored for the last moment which was unusual When everything is done in His style, it tastes the best and is most memorable. Today I leave you to draw the lessons and apply them in your day to day life, I have given you the parameters. God Bless You and Keep You
