Patricia Monteleone, 64, of New Rochelle, died Saturday at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Mount Vernon, NY, on November 8, 1948, daughter of John and Jean (Giordano) Spear. She worked for 35 years, until her recent retirement, as a secretary at Lincoln Elementary School in Mount Vernon, where colleagues and students alike remember with great fondness her warmth and sense of humor. She enjoyed spoiling her two grandchildren and volunteering her time to care for abandoned cats and dogs at Pet Rescue. Her entire extended family and large group of friends were drawn to her compassion, contagious laughter, and love of life. Her generous spirit touched all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Anthony Monteleone; her son, David Monteleone; her daughter, Vanessa Tessitore, and son-in-law, Marc Tessitore; grandchildren, Canon and Petra Tessitore; brother, Jerome Spear, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Spear; sister, Debra Spear; and sister, Maryjean Landi, and her brother-in-law, Peter Landi; and countless other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first child, Paul. Visitation will be on Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Holy Speulchre Cemetery.
