Patrick Maris and I finally were able to hold down Harry long enough to give him a good shave in an attempt to rid him of his flea problem and cool him off a bit in the summer. The new Andis clipper did a great job cutting down to 3/8. It took us 2 hours to work through his thick hair. Nothing was working, Advantage, Frontline, anti-flea shampoo, powder... About a week after shaving and he still had fleas and eggs between his legs. I decided to give the Seresto (Bayer) 8 month collar a try. It worked great, in 2 days he has cleared up, no side effects yet, doesnt stink like old-style collars. its expensive at $60, but if you consider the monthly cost of Frontline, its more than equal.
