Patriot PTO News: The mission of the Patriot Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is to strengthen, enhance, and encourage our educational, social, and community environment. “Together we inspire PRIDE Did You Know? There’s an easy way to help us raise money for Patriot – it’s called Target: Take Charge of Education (https://www-secure.target/redcard/tcoe/home?catalogId=10051\&langId=-1\&storeId=10151\&krypto=cQcHDksCxhgmutHxyjlq48+IHqzAFPvRjj+CK5QVyor4h0nGk1rMzYuRJJKChjT8LUqnEiXjccfX JRWy3V0ESQ==\&ddkey=http:redcard/tcoe/home)®. Sign-up now or if you already have a Target REDcard® make sure it is properly linked to Patriot Elementary (https://www-secure.target/redcard/tcoe/school-details?schoolId=149638\&enroll=yes), so the funds can start accumulating. We currently have 98 cardholders that support Patriot. Let’s add more! Cooks Night Out: Our next Cooks Night Out will be Monday Sept 15th from 4pm-8pm at the Godfather’s Pizza in LaVista. Everyone loves pizza!! Go get a slice! Redemption Committee: What we do is collect receipts, box tops, and labels to get money and supplies for the school. Here is a rundown of the various programs we participate in. Shadow Lake’s Cash for Class: Let’s get $2000 for the school from Shadow Lake. All you have to do is turn in your receipts from your shopping and dining at the Shadow Lake Stores. If you need to hold on to the receipt just stop by the management office, upstairs next to Wheatfield’s. If you do not need your receipt, send it to school with your child and they can put it in the bin in front of the office labeled Shadow Lake. Please send them in a timely manor; the current month’s receipts are due by the 2nd of the following month. This program runs from September 1 until April 30th. Hy-Vee Cash for Students: Do you shop or get gas or use the post office option in Hy-Vee? If you do, from now until December 31st please turn your receipts into the school. They can be from any of the Greater Omaha Area Hy-Vee Stores and need to be the original receipts. There is a bin in front of the office labeled Hy-Vee receipts. For every $200 worth of receipts we turn in the school will get $1. I know it sort of sounds like not much, but all the receipts add up quickly. Any Hy-Vee receipts dated September 1st 2014 thru December 31st 2014 will work at any time. Box Tops for Education: Many of you are familiar with Box Tops for Education. This program is an easy way to help the school get money by just sending in the packaging from certain brands like General Mills and Kleenex. For a full list of participating brands go to boxtops4education. (boxtops4education./)There is a bin located in the front of the front office for your box tops. Campbell’s Labels for Education: This program includes much more besides just the Campbells brand. Please look for Labels on Gladware, Pepperidge Farms, Pop Secret, and Bic products, to name a few, as well. Like all of our other collections there is a bin with the others for the Labels for Education clippings. More information can be found at labelsforeducation/ Tyson Project A+: We started collecting these labels, somewhat quietly, last year. This year let’s try to get more in. You can find the Tyson Project A+ labels on the packages of precooked frozen chicken products. Each of these labels is worth 24 cents. We have a bin for these labels as well. More information can be found at projectaplus.tyson/ These are some simple small ways you can help your school, with things you already buy/ use. Every little bit helps. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Thank you, Tracey Patras (mailto:traceypatras77@gmail) Fall Fundraiser: This year for our Fall fundraiser we will be selling Eileens cookie dough. We will be kicking off our event in late October with delivery set for December 2. Details will be coming soon, so be sure to be on the lookout for them! If you want to help, we are still looking for extra people to be on our team! PTO Meeting Incentives: We had an extra special Door Prize for the General Meeting. Vala’s Pumpkin Patch donated 2 passes for this coming season, which runs Sept 19th through Oct 31st. Mrs. Portofee did a blind pick off the attendance sheet and our winner will be getting their passes shortly. Come to our next meeting. It’s a girl’s night theme. Jan will be for the guys. TeacherLists.Com: Want to help get things off your child’s Teacher’s wish list? You can do it from the ease of your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or anywhere you can get internet access! Go to TeacherLists (teacherlists/), search for Patriot and see if your child’s Teacher has put up a wish list of what they would love to have for their classroom. It’s that easy! And the Teachers will all say Thank You!! Please do not hesitate to contact the PTO Member-at-Large with any comments, questions, or concerns.
