Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious. - Oscar Wilde. In starting with this very famous historical quote Im not seeking deliberate agitation or to grab your attention. However, I intend on using it as a platform to raise singularly one question. Why in human existence do we celebrate days and anniversaries that have been founded on negative, tragic events, or political ideology, make believe or religious sentiment and over courses State Sovereigns or Monarchs? I am wanting views or opinions. For the record, as we, humans, as a species are we so miserable to only focus on negative connotations and sentiment. I think the time has come to change all our public holidays & celebratory parts of the year to something more positive and more sincerely related to its purpose! Enough said!
