Paul Revere Dick, the leader and keyboard player for Paul Revere and the Raiders has passed away at the somewhat ironic age of 76. He had been battling cancer for over a year and still kept his word to appear at shows. Because of his flamboyant penchant for wearing American Colonial costumes and his exuberant live performances, he was eventually called the Mad Man of Rock and Roll - a title he relished. Perhaps, along with the Beach Boys, they were the preeminent answer to the early 60s British Invasion. When I was in a cover band in the early 90s, we did a few of the bands songs, especially the fun, get em on their feet dancing, Kicks.
