Paul Smith of the Arboricultural Association circulated the following information on Friday following website analysis by Jess: ...there is a very positive and upward trend in terms of numbers of visits, or ‘hits’, on the “Find a Tree Surgeon” Directory page for 2014. If the average monthly hits continue, i.e. approx. 5,000, the forecast end of year figure will amount to a 50% increase on 2013 figures. I’m sure there are several reasons why we are seeing this increase in ‘hits’ but, anecdotally…and incidentally, I am aware of an increasing number of Local Authorities who are linking to our website from theirs (and consequentially doing away with their own, often informal, ‘approved contractor list.’) Hence it may be worth checking what your LA do and informing us ([email protected] ) if they don’t have a link, ideally with a contact name and email address.
