Paul reminds us that the flesh still wrestles with us and who we - TopicsExpress

Paul reminds us that the flesh still wrestles with us and who we feed is what is revealed. In Romans 8:1-8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Saints we are free from sin and death! I think of the song “Jesus Paid It All” It goes like this: Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. If He paid it all then WE OWE HIM ALL! Why is it we sit there and ignore His Word and don’t do the things that He commands us to do? Not to earn salvation but because of what the above song says. Jesus paid it all! Paul tells us that when we are in the flesh we cannot please God! It’s impossible. Those of you that have never repented of your sins to God and asked Jesus into your hearts to save you cannot please God. I don’t care how good you are you still fall short as it states in Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Paul goes on to say in Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Saints we are reminded we are NOT in the flesh. Lost people you are reminded that you do not have Christ. This is all in a single verse. Then we look at the last few verses in this chapter. Paul asks a couple of questions in Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? This is directed to folks that have locked themselves up in bondage thinking that Jesus’ blood is not good enough to cleanse us from ALL sin permanently! Who is going to separate us from the love of Christ? Hold on to your seats folks Paul answers these questions. Remember that the Bible is the FINAL authority! You cannot argue with the Word of God. You have nothing to stand on. Paul answers and says in Romans 8:36-39 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. (37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (38) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Your answer in summary is NO ONE can separate us from the love of God! Not even ourselves! When we become born-again it is finished in Psalms 103:12 it says As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Jesus stated in John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (28) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall NEVER perish, neither shall any man PLUCK them out of my hand. The Word of God is very clear on this subject of eternal security. Stop making God into someone He is not! His ways are not OUR ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts! One single cell of Christ’s blood can wash away permanently your sins, past present and future. You become JUSTIFIED! Love to all!
