It is important to distinguish between this kind of relationship and a codependent relationship, in which we relate to others for a ulterior motive, perhaps seeking to meet our own lack or need. Healthy interdependent relationships attempt to meet others needs without seeking some hidden reward. When we learn to love selflessly as Paul propose the physical and emotional needs of everyone in our community will be met.
