Paul update: An amazing turn of events today....within the last 24hrs Paul has done a complete turnaround! His physical status has been steadily improving but his mental state was as of yesterday afternoon pretty grim...someone threw a light switch in Paul in the night and my phone rang at 830 am this morning with Paul on the other end informing me thst he was getting ready to go to rehab and wanted David and me to come meet with the hospital caseworker and him to make a plan for his post hospital care! We did meet this afternoon, Paul looked amazingly different from yesterday and there was no sign of dementia or confusion in addition to his physical appearance being much improved. Sooo, the plan is he will be going to a rehab facility over the weekend, one very close to his apartment and will stay there until he is walking and has his feet under him. I predict a week or two...then he will come home and he will have to have some daily medical and homecare assistance ongoing. Soooo, I am quite sure the Someone who turned the switch on was The Lord in answer to all our prayers. David and I both had jaws dropped while Paul eagerly accepted the doc and our suggestion he go to rehab, which is miraculous in itself! He is certainly not completely out of the woods yet but clearly is on his way to wanting to get well and pysically and medically 100% improved over the critical condition he was in when we brought him in 12 days ago. Max will have to wait a few more days but he also with medication is having an easier time day to day. Please continue to pray and praise God for lifting Paul out of the dark and healing his body and his mind. I will continue to post updates as we go forward, and again I am so very grateful for everyones thoughts and prayers.
