Paving the way: Comment: Prayer prepares the way of the Lord; i was at a church camp meeting a few years back and was asking God what is the real purpose of prayer? the answer: prayer prepares the way of God. . 2Sa 7:27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. Comment: David king of Israel found his way to God through prayer; God’s attention was focused now in a promise to david that he would build his house giving him a kingdom, this brings david to his knees in prayer, a time of thanks and praise. 1Ki 8:28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day: Comment: God has great respect for his servants in prayer hearing their cries for mercy. Jesus does listen. 1Ki 8:29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day,even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place. Comment: when we pray God shifts his sight, focusing on our lives 1Ki 8:45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. Comment: God attends to our needs when we prayer. 2Ki 20:5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. Comment: Prayer here caused God to react because he heard his prayer; his tears reaching the throne of God and then the healing came. 2Ch 6:40 Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. Comment: This prayer starts with God; open your eyes, your thoughts to mel. hear my cries, tears for mercy. 2Ch 7:12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. Comment: God heard this prayer and then moved to make this place a house of sacrifice. 2Ch 7:15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. Comment: Prayers causes God to open his eyes and his ears to pay attention to the needs of the ones praying. 2Ch 30:27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven. Comment: Prayers reach all the way to Gods dwelling place in the heavens. Comment: prayer is communication with God, talking with God sharing your innermost self with God; results happened through these conversations, as he listens, so must we listen. Psa 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Comment: david liked to start his day with prayer looking to God to direct his paths for the day. Psa 54:2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. Pro 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Pro 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Comment: When a man turns from listening to the ordinances and directions of God either through his Word or through the five fold ministry: apostles, evangelists, pastors, teachers, and prophets his prayers become an abomination because of disobedience. Mat 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Comment: Some demonic forces cannot be eliminated in our lives except through prayer and fasting; Prayer allows Jesus to address the exorcising of demons within people, or ourselves,, and the fasting puts our flesh in a place of submission, turning our fleshly needs aside, and allowing the Spiritual, the Holy Ghost to subdue darkness within. Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves Comment: God’s House is a place of prayer; not a place to gain material things unjustly. I for one, do not want to have God call me a thieve. Our temples are to be a place of prayer and fellowship with God, not a place, dwelling as a focus on how much can we get materially, but be a focus on God to reach the lost. . Mat 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Comment: to believe that what we ask for that is righteous will come about; how much do we believe reflects on what is given in response. Act 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Comment: To survive our live must revolve around prayer, and the ministry of the Word. Rom 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Comment: Prayer gives us hope and patience in tribulation because we know God is listening and watching our situation. Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Comment: We are to pray in the Spirit, God’s Spirit inside of us, in tears and cries for mercy, while looking after others in the body, with endurance. Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Comment: Forget about your circumstances pray with tears and cries for mercy, at the same time giving thanks, and expect results. Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Lastly: 1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. Comment: Be sober and in prayer watch for salvation.
