Paws to the Rescue Needs YOUR Help! In 989 Miles Home we all saw the passion and service that Jen Nall and the PTTR volunteers give to save the animals of Marion County. They do this with very little help from their County Council, who only gives them $53,000/year. Now the County Council has decided to EVICT them because PTTR failed to provide a financial audit on time. The ludicrous thing is PTTR was never contractually obligated to provide one! Despite this PTTR has hired an auditor for $9,600 and has begun the audit process. However, as of yesterday PTTR was evicted. The city council now has INMATES caring for the animals. The County Council cut corners for years using cheap inmate labor and the Marion County Animal Shelter suffered a 90% euthanasia rate. Please help pressure the Marion County City Council to re-instate PTTR immediately and to allow them to complete the audit. If the County Council should find PTTR unfit to run the shelter upon the audits completion, ask them to not evict again until they have a qualified organization prepared to take over.
